Serge Kislakoff was born in Yalta in 1897.
His family were originally from Odessa and Serge Kislakoff served as an Officer in the formidable Don Cossacks during the First World War. After the defeat of the White Armies during the Russian Revolution he found refuge firstly in Egypt and then in South America.
Serge Kislakoff subsequently moved to Corsica where he began painting and was encouraged by the Italian painter Luigi Corbellini (1901-1968). After living in Nice for some time Kislakoff moved to Paris where he painted scenes of Montmartre, the Grand Boulevards, the Champs-Élysées and also scenes of the South of France - carnivals, port views and landscapes. He joined the decorative workshops of the Gaumont Film Company and designed numerous film posters.
Serge Kislakoff exhibited in galleries in Paris, Nice and Brussels. In 1959 and shared a two-man exhibition in Paris with Jean-Gabriel Domergue (1889-1962).
Examples of his paintings can be found in the Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules Chéret in Nice.
Serge Kislakoff died in Reims in 1985.
